<p>My father's generation had much more leisure time than my generation. When he was out of the office at 5pm work stopped. There were no laptops, slack pings, etc, etc. Vacations were longer, pensions were a thing. You could get a job supporting a family right out of high school. Things have absolutely gotten worse in the west no matter how much you want to twist the stats.</p>

<p>Ah I always felt like novels were a partnership in a way. He is putting down words and I am using that to create a world in my mind. 2 people reading the same novel are creating 2 different worlds.</p>

<p>If the purpose of college is not to get a job, then why do they give out degrees? Why do they give out loans?<p>Many colleges heavily advertise how it will help your career prospects. Yet when called out on the less than rosy outcomes they retreat to a position of oh it isn't about career at all.</p>

<p>People not liking cardio was always a weird one to me. Kids love to run around. They naturally do it, no one has to prompt them. Not sure what happens to people as they grow up that makes them lose this joy.</p>
