Stop taking drugs, get out and enjoy life. It’s really pretty simple. Most of society works that way.

From the announcement it’s a lot of unnecessary philosophical moves and less innovation moves. I like innovative Linux, but that’s just my opinion.

New comment by cramcgrab in "Can I start using Wayland in 2026?"

cramcgrab — Sun, 04 Jan 2026 13:25:24 +0000

I’ve been using Wayland exclusively for about 2 years. It’s great. And when it’s not it gets fixed. X11 isn’t a project anymore, it’s a nightmare of empty meetings and discussions, no coders.

Gotta love Electrek and Fred Lambert, he’s managed to lose a crap-ton of money on Tesla stock. What a total loser. I always read his stuff and think the opposite, that’s the safe bet.

New comment by cramcgrab in "LVM Thin Provisioning (2016)"

cramcgrab — Wed, 24 Dec 2025 19:28:13 +0000

Zfs thin is way better, adjusts on the fly and can handle things like dedupe and compression. Lots of good things in zfs because it’s the filesystem and the volume manager.

That’s fine but it’s only for the first bunch of cycles, after that it’s way worse than standard lion batteries.
