How timely, I was just thinking about this today! Sure, we can write code quickly and in copious amounts, but the challenge of software engineering (at least in my imagination) has always been maintaining and upkeeping it.

> Good design is discoverable.
I would argue that Windows design lineage here has conditioned us to accept what Microsoft gives us. Do you really think Windows has good design? There are three control panels in W11 for god's sake.
I really think what you're getting at here is "familiar design is discoverable" - for a majority of users, the familiarity with Windows design is indeed a major driving factor. It's why Linux is scary, because it's unfamiliar. You can get a lot done on Linux desktop these days via GUI on the major distributions, terminal not required. Much like Windows.
The boot experience is not as polished, and I think the pre-OS environment that Micorsoft has built up around Windows is excellent unlike *nix which is dealing with ramfs and GRUB, etc.

Self-taught and tenacious, I'm an operations professional looking for an opportunity to jump into a career in software development. I'm fluent in the technology listed above. Currently, I'm honing my skills in Typescript and adding Go to my toolbox and always open to learning new things!
I've got a proven record of continuous self learning and improvement, and I'd love to chat about what I can bring to the table.

Hey, just so you know, the front page has infinite scroll on the content, but in order to access any content in the footer I had to open source and find the `href` that way.
For a lay user, that means they'd have to scroll through your entire database of content to access the privacy policy link, unless they have it bookmarked or have previously visited for autofill or can guess the path.
