Is there any model that knows how to smooth an overly literary text over? I find Opus and Fable constantly decorate the documentation they write like a damn 19/20th century writer. We're working with IT stuff yet it writes like it's going to win some Pulitzer prize. It's that one thing I don't get why they can't train them to do properly: I have not encountered a model yet that sticks to the current language of the domain it's tasked with.

Statements like this typically come from working on the same setup and context using different models. I actually have that very experience now; I work on something security-adjacent so Fable often drops out, at which point Opus behaves like its lobotomized half-sibling. Pardon me the language, but I can't find a better example to be honest.

Agreed, it's extremely frustrating. It's the only model that actually makes me curse when talking to it, even knowing how counterproductive it is.

That's status right now, and that's because we just got models than can speed up the mitigation or find new CVEs. Plenty of reports of how many of them get patched now, most recently with Chrome.

By that time the same Mythos class run on specialized hardware 5 years earlier will have fixed the same bugs that the Mythos class on consumer devices could have exploited.

We cannot possibly expect all parents to take proper care of their kids. This has never been the case and never will. That's why we have schools and other institutions that oversee our growth within society.

You could make same exact argument regarding kids health, alcohol abuse, nicotine abuse, all types of addictions, age of consent, and so on.

You can't just have all the safeguards dropped because you think you're doing a good job. Or, even worse, you have no kids and it's your virtues merely projecting.

I invested in Moderna around the time they had their vaccine enter Phase I trials, hoping for a pay off.

Do they? As in Claude but on premises? Wonder if this is gonna be the solution that e.g. banks will require, exactly like they do now for cloud services (e.g. Azure on premises).
