What theater is that at? Sounds like a mega chain like AMC or Regal. The local indie theater we go to in one of the 5 largest American cities has never been over $15 per ticket and adding popcorn and a drink is maybe $10 more on top.

In my experience, a lot of the time the people who COULD be solving these issues are people who used to code or never have. The actual engineers who might do something like this aren't given authority or scope and you have MBAs or scrum masters in the way of actually solving problems.

I built a typescript app that will take a directory of mp3 files, rip the metadata and cover art, and turn them into a podcast feed. I had been self-hosting a podcast feed for a couple friends and wanted to build something better than I had found previously, at least for my specific use case.
I wouldn't be happy turning this in at work = it's not perfect, definitely not optimized, and docs need work. I'm sure it breaks a lot of rules for clean code, good abstractions, and proper nodejs usage, but it's my first time using ts/js for backend and I haven't always had the time for personal coding projects like I've wanted to, so I'm just glad it's working.
Just swapped out the docker image on my homelab and was excited to start seeing per-episode cover art show up in my feed.

Not to be anti YC on their forum, but the VC business model is all about splashing cash on a wide variety of junk that will mostly be worthless, hyping it to the max, and hoping one or two is like amazon or facebook. He's not an engineer, he's like Steve Jobs without the good parts.

Pair programming - I just want to share my screen and audio with a teammate, so a full video meeting software is over the top bloat.
And this https://tuple.app/ is tuple, previous company gave us subscriptions to use and I was a huge fan of it.

Been looking for a solution for some volunteer work. I used Tuple at a previous job and I wanted to find a low-cost or self-hosted equivalent - NOT a full video conferencing app. I really liked the focus on audio and screen sharing that Tuple had, but after some github and reddit searches I can't find anything that is currently open and self hosted. Does anyone here have something they recommend?

On a personal level, that's why I started using them for self hosting. At work, I think the simplicity of scaling from a pool of resources is a huge improvement over having to provision a new device. Currently at an on-prem team and even moving to kubernetes without going to cloud would solve some of the more painful operational problems that send us pages or we have to meet with our prod support team about.
