Yeah it's wild how the use case for 90% of users is "convert epub/mobi/whatever to azw3 and upload to kindle" and doing that is buried in several right click context menus... I'm comfortable doing it now but it seems as easy as having a left pane for books in my "library" and right pane for books on my device

It's likely solve the gap of "I can't use my phone while it's wirelessly charging". With the magsafe thing you can just clunk the charger to the back of your phone and keep using it. While battery life is still crap on these (side note - I didn't hear a single thing in the presentation about battery life... yikes) people are going to be charging their phones while they use them.
I hate to be a pessimist but with them not including a charger or headphones, they're slowly moving toward no data port whatsoever

It's worth checking out if the Neovim VScode plugin[1] works for your workflow. It's not as mature, but was much smoother when I tested it out. I'm not able to make the change until they implement a "toggle vim mode" command available... but once they do I'll jump. Also check out Onivim[2]
1: https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=asvetlia...

I'm confused by this. Aren't apps sandboxed fairly hard? How would TikTok get any data outside of what's allowed by Apple/Android's app APIs? If they're getting more information than that, isn't that up to the OS to limit?

The psychology of the "hot take" on twitter is a prime example of this. Is it less friction to read a 3 page blog post that critically analyzes a subject and takes into account different viewpoints that all have merit, or to read someone's 280 character reaction?
I am guilty myself, I often find myself jumping to the comments section even here on HN to understand what people are taking away from an article without even finishing it.
