I was in a vacation and I couldn't connect to a remote pc. And since then I set up wireguard in all routers and I also changed syncthing LAN only.

Yes, but I setup syncthing's file versioning to 25, in case of keepass, for example. Also, I set it up that only my PC can send, all other PCs, smartphones, can only receive. Sure, there are still many ways to attack this system, but I still prefer it.

For my small library photos, keepass passwords, etc around 30gb, I use syncthing, which will backup on my pc, on my parents pc (they live in another country), on my sisters pc and on my phone. They also use this triangular mode to backup their stuff. Syncthing is setup to only sync through tailscale or home routers network.

I think he might be talking about Camper Shoes. I have two pairs that are at least 6 years old, but they are not made for running, and, they are also not as comfortable for walking as many of the famous brands. One was made in Cambodia (Peu) and the other one in Vietnam (Drift).

My main two puzzles with Google Maps are: - on my timeline I have a few driving and motorcycling, and I have neither of those, I only bike to work. But my puzzle here is: how do they know that someone is riding a motorcycle or a car? - when I ask it for walking routes, the estimated time is always way longer than my walking time. I get to the destination in half of time. So what do they do with all the tracking?

Maybe he said it as in you feel you have it with you when you run. I've tried many things (arm bands, phone belts), but I still can't find a good place for it. There's always something too tight, too loose etc.

Because in some places you will limit yourself to a few leafy greens. Never seen rucola sold without plastic, for example.

We should also extend that to firefighters, they do nothing most of the time, anyway. Let the fires burn everything and after that let the insurance solve the problems for those who have it.

For small trips through France you'll probably get cheaper without this pass. When I'm in vacation I do 2-3 days in a city than move on. If I exclude Milano-Lyon, I don't think I ever payed more than 40€ through France and I did Lyon, Paris, Rennes, Brest, Nantes, Bordeaux and a few other cities. The only thing is that I book way in advance.

When I returned from Germany, two months ago, the lady next to me was amazed that I payed Munchen-Verona 37€ while she did 100+.

Honestly, I also miss, sometimes, those days, when every website had a toolbar to install. I didn't have high expectations in those days. Now you see these billion dollar companies and you ask yourself what are those people doing there? Can't they afford at least one guy to do the bugs?

I currently live in Italy and always lived in an European city. Most apartments are tiny here.

Am I the only one who barely knows people who think of making money by buying a house? In my circles, everyone buys a house to live in it and that's it. Same goes with NIMBYS, never met someone saying: "Don't build here because the value of my apartment/house goes down." What I've usually met, it's people who just been lucky because grandpa, grandma, and/or other very old relatives, usually after WW2, bought large plots of land and they build there something and now their younglings are asking incredible sums of money for rent or selling.

I don't know how many travelers use train instead of a car in New Zealand, but if it means 20% less traffic on the road, those taxes are probably worthy. That's what I say to all drivers which get nervous for sitting behind me when I bike to work. Think, that if I can't bike, there will be another car on the street.

But wouldn't be better if people would invest in better home insulation and ventilation? It would help in the winter also. I say this because since the early 90s, my father installed air conditioning in our home, but in 2020 the building was redone (the building is from 1986), and whenever I return home in the summer, I don't need air conditioning. Just lower the roller blinds and open the windows after the sun passed.

And in Italy many people say Bancomat when they want to pay with the card even if they don't have a card with that circuit anymore.

I understand the first part, but I don't understand the second one. It's probably my ignorance for not having children and being out of touch with schooling. When I was in school very little grading was based on homework, mostly was grading by testing in class. For example math, I'm absolutely sure it was 100% a few grading tests every semester. You could cheat by copying the homework of your classmates, it was the same set of problems for, but with 0 understanding, you would not pass.
