East Germany and others have made enduring attempts at the manual labor variety. I do not find any argument credible, in fact it’s purely malice, that promotes a legalistic path to deepening authoritarianism.

Depends a lot on whether the applied definitions of “expect” and “privacy” are meaningful, as well as on effects that were hidden for 100 years before new capabilities arose. Machine guns are mostly illegal.

I know it’s 2026 and on mobile but the correct “how to” will lead with gzip or existing native compression and provide this workaround as an alternative rather than as a literal modern replacement.

I an spending more effort to critique than the thing was given to begin with, but someone took the effort to downvote a criticism of, no offense intended to the end user, literally AI spam clickbait headlines for ranking, and so I feel engaged.

Sure, now do corrections officers, who I’d classify as just another expression of our culture with a troubled twist.

Non-LEOs are not so especially enlightened and kind to know they could ever remain that way given similar powers and societal mandate.

I hold that the entire criminal/justice system is medieval.

I agree with you, but argue with the form of the person we both replied to. Alhough I would prefer universal peace and international morality, I maintain a generally neutral position on nuclear arms. I am also neutral on the evergreen innocent idiocies of youthfulness.
