They're speaking a language that you don't understand and you feel is inferior. You see the language that you speak with your LLM as "superior" but you struggle with to teach that to someone else. This is a bad situation for you and your mental health.

At the end of the day, we humans are social creatures. It can't be helped. Our happiness is directly tied to our social interactions.

I say "get over yourself", for your own sake. Being included is better than being "right" sometimes. If you reach out and try to meet them halfway, you can build a connection and teach them about your language. It's a game of give and take. You have to pay in other people's currency, then in return they pay you back.

I'm sure the first farmers said that when they drove a tractor. "I can't feel the land", but the ones that got over that could do 10x yield. The "feel" just moves up the stack.

I think they're sacrificing short term terrestrial GPU advantage to fund their space GPU mega-advantage. It's a risky bet, but if it pays off then SpaceX will be one of the most powerful companies the earth has ever seen.

I really like this idea. The md preview thing is super annoying. However, I was hoping your solution was like a local desktop app thats a dedicated md rendering app, things you've asked for line up in the queue for review. My browser is like a junk drawer, can't be bothered to go hunting in there.

Two DO droplets (one for claw, one for code deploys because claw refuses to touch itself without exec approval) is about $60/month. Been running those for 6 weeks so only one billing cycle.

Then about $120 in API credits from Anthropic, xAI, openrouter, openAI, and Gemini ( $25 here and there adds up).

Best bang for my buck has been with xAI grok-4.20-beta

I have OC on a VPS. So far it's a way for me to play with non-Claude models and try to get them to get OC under control. So far I'm about $200 all in and OC is still not under control. Every few weeks it goes on an ACP bender and blows my credits in hidden sub-agents for no damn reason. I'm determined to break this horse though, it's like a fun video game with a glitchy end boss.

Hmm, maybe they're discouraging copilot+Claude through pricing, nudging people to anthropic suite of tools. That sucks. I've been super happy with copilot+opus/sonnet.

That's how I see most of the system design capabilities of Opus. I've been an engineer for 15 years. It's so nice to describe what you want, it gets you in the ballpark, and you can refine and tweak to get it just right. Sometimes it's fun to have it design crazy stuff so you can play out a crazy idea without wasting too much time. I can see how it could easily translate to the visual design space.

Now, if I could only get a model to draw arch diagrams....

I think people wouldn't have wanted to work with me or listen to my opinions. I don't think the CEO would care, but down at my level, what the CEO thinks doesn't matter. It's all about peers and adjacent teams.

And I never voice any political opinions at work because I don't want to say anything my peers would perceive as "abhorrent".

But it's already like this. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have survived in tech if people knew I was a conservative. I've always felt like I would be punished if people knew.

I think the "gotchas" were a side effect of his true mission. If you look at all the gotcha clips for Charlie Kirk and others like Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson, they're not created by the official accounts, it's mostly leech accounts that grab the "best of" clips for their own click-bait benefit.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure the creators aren't sad that they have these followers but I don't think they go out looking for this.

Honestly, it's probably just good practice for being a parent. The first thing you learn is that pain is your new normal. You just get used to it.

It's kind of freeing, in a way. Lets you see your own pain from the outside like it's happening to someone else. Takes the power away.
