it's not always the coding. it's keeping straight what you've asked it. I've seen mistakes that almost mimic memory loss. Node A is measuring node B. OK, next step is to apply this update to the measurement codebase in node B. Uh, no dude, we are working on node A.
this one anonymous guy may be vibe coding himself to $200k, but there might be bombs in there that won't go off until later.

Thanks to this lovely site, and my distaste for AI, I've found a whole ecosystem of minimalist blogs and artists' personal sites. It's shifting my habits and foci. I don't do socials anymore except forums like this.
Maybe I have slop to thank for it.

Exactly. I've always loved racquet sports- how it makes me feel, the improvement of hand-eye coordination, the competition, sure, all of that- but most of all, because hitting a ball with a stick with a bouncy strings around in a court is a damn good time. So it's never felt like an effort to me.

I like my old kindle for the same reason I like using Linux and the command line as much as I can- to minimize distracting bullshit. Amazon wants all their devices to be data harvesters as much as subscription and purchase vectors.
Though I have to admit, my old kindle is more museum than anything these days, with a lot of books I go back to just to re-read sections I like. Learned quite a while ago there are ebook ecosystems outside of Amazon and minimalist readers which can use them.

there must be a strong causal link with terrain / the nature of these rides. I live in hilly country so I learned as a kid how to upshift and downshift. 80% of the rides I take would be slow and laborious with a single-speed bike. I'm willing to bet most cheap single-speed bike people (of those who aren't using them out of financial necessity or social conformity) are urban riders who have mostly flat terrain to cover.
