Exactly, surprisingly simple right?
There are no tricks other to learn how to code and make projects. I don't understand this hype behind all the tools.

Is this the same for you?
I talked to a Data Scientist that was apparently paying for Claude Max and making so many apps, only to find out he doesn't even know how to use git or github and has nothing published.
He blabbered about using agents for everything and spending all day making projects. Whereas I'm here struggling to make a directory website with next.js, cursor, prisma, learning backend and making things work.
I still do courses and keep improving, I don't understand why there is so many people that don't read code or use an IDE anymore. So much bullshit, but a lot of leaders, at the same time, are supporting this theory.
What am I missing?

It feels like everyone is exaggerating their claims about what they achieve with AI therefore making stacks and tool use choice very confusing nowadays. AI subscriptions overlap and it's always about the next best model. I think we're at a point where most of the popular ones do well.
What is your code toolkit currently? IDE, boilerplates /UI scaffolding, cloud services, CLI, agent tools, prompt engineering...
What tools are light years away from the rest, and which tools categories you feel it doesn't matter what vendor you use?

I started to learn how to code in late 2023 and to be honest, doing it the traditional way is the best way to learn.
Use the AI to coach you, instead of relying on it as a crutch.

I went down a rabbit hole of investigating funds like https://www.motivepartners.com/ and their portfolios. A lot of b2b finance startups in these PE/VC portfolios seem to be very underdeveloped compared to traditional SaaS. Maybe it is because sales are almost exclusively relationship-driven and they thrive on privacy, but I can't help but frown and believe there should be more of these tools, reviews, documentation... Serving PE firms and financial institutions. G2 and Capterra are also underdeveloped in this category.
Aside from this underserved b2b software segment, personal experience in investing has shown me that a lot of the most popular prosumer SaaS like finbox, tikr, koyfin, with huge user bases do not have a lot of employees, and at the same, provide a lot of value to the end user making subscriptions of over $20/mo justifiable for an investor with a relatively small portfolio.
Any reason aside from the regulatory and technical aspects of finance for these projects to be in short supply? It seems like most startups in finance tend to fall in consumer fintech which is a crowded space much harder to stand out in.

I tend to use Google to to research and go through multiple website but do exclusively use AI to solve tech issues. So it really depends on the activity for me.
