Unlimited migration from Schengen depressed UK wages, a lot of the people you're deriding had no chance to do skilled work and had to compete against people willing to work for pittance because it was more than in RO/BG.

(The fact that the government has replaced that with cheap labour from outside the EU doesn't help)

One of the key bits is that the cartel worked out the OFAC check by HSBC was shitty so could add spaces etc to bypass it. It wasn't a conscious decision, but a failure of their process.

There argument is that lightning is more waterproof (which makes some sense as the only devices apple uses it with have higher IP ratings) but I doubt how significant that is in reality

I agree. I recently went looking for a car part and was able to easily find the phone numbers for sellers to check. In the UK at least they also do end of month 15/20% sales where I've scored some bargains. I got a bit fatigued of Amazon and how the minimum order price was like £10

Apple's argument behind keeping the lightning connector is that it offers a superior standard of waterproofing than the USB-C can provide. The iPad and MacBook, to my knowledge, don't make any claims about being waterproof.

(Not to say anything about the veracity of the waterproof argument, just that they make it)

Unfortunately in the UK at least, the question of "how come student doctors can't afford rent when we give 25% of tax receipts to the NHS" it's too close to criticism of the NHS, a secular heresy.
