In fact, I also built an app specifically for blind and low-vision users. It was inspired by my Night Vision app, and it’s called Obstacle Detector: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6461118479

The idea for the Night Vision App began with a simple moment of curiosity. When I first got my iPhone 14 Pro Max, I noticed a small, unfamiliar dot beneath the rear camera — the LiDAR sensor. It made me wonder: could this be used to see in the dark? If LiDAR can map a scene, why not try turning that data into real night-vision imaging?
That question sparked the creation of the Night Vision App. By combining the iPhone’s LiDAR scanner with the TrueDepth camera, it delivers detailed low-light imaging and transforms your phone into a capable night-vision tool.
If you own an iPhone Pro model, it’s definitely worth trying.

Big news! The basic features of Night Vision App are now completely free — only the advanced tools require a one-time purchase.
It used to be a paid app, but now the basic night vision preview is free for everyone. Pro features still require a one-time purchase. Thanks for your support!
Recent Updates:
1⃣ Fully optimized for iOS 26 with the new Liquid Glass design
2⃣ Enhanced night vision performance
The idea for Night Vision App actually came from a moment of curiosity. When I first got my iPhone 14 Pro Max, I noticed a mysterious little dot beneath the rear camera — the LiDAR sensor. I suddenly wondered: could it be used to see in the dark? If LiDAR could be used to map out a scene, maybe real night vision could become possible.
That’s how Night Vision App was born. It combines the iPhone’s LiDAR scanner and TrueDepth camera to create detailed low-light imaging — turning your phone into a professional-grade night vision device.
If you have an iPhone Pro model, I highly recommend giving it a try.

Hi everyone,
Night Vision App utilizes your device's LiDAR camera to explore the magic of the night. Offering a deep visual experience, it allows you to capture stunning images and videos, opening up new ways to perceive the world!
You can search for "Night Vision" on the App Store to download it, or click the link to download: https://apps.apple.com/app/id1668629667
Principle:
In well-lit environments, the device uses the rear standard camera in conjunction with the LiDAR Scanner or TrueDepth Camera for imaging to ensure optimal image quality. However, in completely dark environments, imaging is solely handled by the rear LiDAR scanner or infrared camera.
Supported devices:
All Apple devices with LiDAR scanning capabilities or the Face ID feature are supported.

pcl.js is a Point Cloud Library (PCL) that runs in the browser, powered by Emscripten and WebAssembly
The Point Cloud Library (PCL) is a large scale, open project for 2D/3D image and point cloud processing. The PCL framework contains numerous state-of-the art algorithms including filtering, feature estimation, surface reconstruction, registration, model fitting and segmentation. PCL has its own data format for storing point clouds - PCD (Point Cloud Data), but also allows datasets to be loaded and saved in many other formats.
A point cloud is a set of data points in space. The points may represent a 3D shape or object. Each point position has its set of Cartesian coordinates (X, Y, Z). Point clouds are generally produced by Lidar(light detection and ranging) or by photogrammetry software, which measure many points on the external surfaces of objects around them.
Github: https://github.com/luoxuhai/pcl.js
Website: https://pcljs.org
Demos:
1.
