Yes, it works with AMD CPUs as well as various ARM ones, e.g. Apple silicon.

My understanding is that they fell behind on offering the latest gen Nvidia hardware (Blackwell/Blackwell Ultra) due to their focus on internally developed ASICs (Trainium/Inferentia gen 2).

Indeed. We had experimental support for preserving (some) constants but it fell by the wayside. We're bringing it back in the coming months.
