How do you know how much effort they're putting in? If they're making stuff up then they're not useful, I think the labs want their models to be useful.

I mean, I wouldn't buy this one, but I see the use case. A lot of reading (code, webpages) is done vertically, it's helpful to have more vertical real estate in a typical form factor.
I'm not sure about robustness, would have to wait and see tests.

Maybe different people, it's ok, but I really don't think chatgpt is head and shoulders above the others.

I'm opening up my app right now, and I see none of this. Granted I'm a recent installer (this week), and all I've followed are tech/ml based lists. But it is a much quieter place than twitter.
The major accounts from twitter are not on bluesky, but I don't care for vitriol or meme replies (all of which are much higher on twitter). That being said, twitter still has a lot of interesting people, who are the main reason to continue using the site.

I use the big 3 chatbots already. Since there seem to be a lot of interest and movement in the open weight world (llama and alternatives), and also companies that support inference, I'm wondering if there are any services that cobble together their own llm chatbots? Or are there resources where I can find some of the projects others (either individuals or small companies) have put together?

This story kind of misses the point, and there's a whole lot that goes into "try" and "try harder".
Not everyone can do anything, but I think any individual person can do a lot. But are they trying and are they thinking about how they're trying?

I don't want to cast any judgement, I just want to ask what the initial product is. The claim is they sell computers, and there's a link to the tinybox. There's a $100 preorder, for a 15k computer (I guess I'd have to pay 14.9k eventually?).
And then we get a computer that... how do I interact with it? Will it have its own OS? Some flavor of linux? Is the intent to work on it directly, or use it as an inference server, and talk over a network?
