I see AI is a capital game, not really an innovation game. Plenty of the innovation that led to AI today came from Canadian and European researchers. To be at the top of AI, you must have focused capital, which Canada and EU have been lacking in compared to US and China.

I would be surprised if any AI forward OS is based around applications developed by other people. I imagine the OS will create the software you need. Thing's like banking apps are more difficult, but I imagine OpenAI could sort that out behind the scenes.

All sushi fish is frozen for some number of days to kill anything. I guess the only risk would come from somebody not doing there job properly, but I'm sure a sushi chef would notice a living worm parasite in the fish they are cutting

I've seen plenty of rats in Toronto. I used to live around Chinatown and I could practically punt a rat just walking out my door at night.

They are releasing AluminumOS with their Googlebooks, which is a AI forward OS. If its good or not we have yet to see.

Yes my framing was a little confusing. You were clear in that you are building products on them. I was more saying that because these gemma models are not products, and instead research outputs, the naming scheme should be more scientific rather than consumer friendly.

These models aren't products? They are open source ish (open weight I guess), research outputs. While the naming scheme may be confusing, it is relevant and important. I believe it's on you to understand it.

I would just think that taste has changed. I was actually thinking to myself that I prefer 2049's style as I was reading through this. But I was also born in the late 90's, so I assume it could be a generational difference.
