>3. It’s irresponsible to call colonoscopies “invasive” (as CNN did) since that might make people think they are unpleasant and not do them.
They are invasive, they are also unpleasant. It isn’t irresponsible to say those things it’s just true.

I would make the distinction "visuals" vs "plot and characters" in the case of rings of power. It undoubtably looks fantastic and for many that is enough for it to be good, regardless of the plot or characters.

There has been no
hint that Galadriel is really into riding horses.
- The music and slow motion are so comically over the top.

"The SEC’s order also finds that NVIDIA’s omissions of material information about the growth of its gaming business were misleading given that NVIDIA did make statements about how other parts of the company’s business were driven by demand for crypto, creating the impression that the company’s gaming business was not significantly affected by cryptomining.
The SEC’s order finds that NVIDIA violated Section 17(a)(2) and (3) of the Securities Act of 1933 and the disclosure provisions of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. The order also finds that NVIDIA failed to maintain adequate disclosure controls and procedures. Without admitting or denying the SEC’s findings, NVIDIA agreed to a cease-and-desist order and to pay a $5.5 million penalty."

Kairos | UK, Remote (Europe) | Frontend | Full time
Kairos sports are looking for entry level and senior frontend developers.
A bit about Kairos:
Kairos is a platform for professional sports clubs to streamline planning, communications and optimise athlete performance. Kairos has progressed from initial trials and is now being used by national teams at the highest levels of sport in Europe and the US including teams in the top four tiers of English football as well as Premiership and Pro-14 rugby union teams.
We are looking for people with a strong desire to learn, a relentless focus on product and great written communication.
You don't need to be excited about sports (but it would help) but you definitely do need to be excited about creating great experiences for our customers.
We use Typescript, React, GraphQL and React Native. Specific knowledge of these is helpful but not required.
You will be working as part of our small team (the entire company is <10 people) to take full responsibility for the whole lifecycle of a feature from design, implementation testing and deployment.
We have both a mobile app and a web app. You would be working on both.
We value and encourage positive intent, teamwork, a no-blame culture, patience and an agile and efficient mindset. Supporting teammates & mentorship is a big part of how we work.
Our interview process is:
- A quick conversations with me to talk about some of your experience and a chance for you to ask any questions about Kairos
- A short take home assignment or live coding exercise, your call
- A final interview with our CEO
These are "remote first" positions, although we have offices in Belfast as an option.
If you have any other questions you can reach me at dean.merchant@kairostech.io
Salary is £20k - £65k depending on experience
