What a wonderful article/anecdote.
I have and will always be an advocate of human connections. My experience of working across a number of agencies and startups has been the best focus on that (though it can be hard to sustain).
I would love to work with people and at places that understand and realise the value of this.

The article isn't very informative.
I watched a video of Emad Mostaque (Stability AI CEO) recently; he alluded to discussions with Apple, but who knows to what degree. The general thrust being we need to have greater control over our data and that's one of the things Stability is working towards, which chimes with Apples overall approach.

Does anyone know a reliable easy method to get into an iPhone and recover photos or videos from it?
The last backup is over 2 years old (the computer with more recent backups died) and the phone were mistakenly erased using iCloud from their iPad. This resulted in the loss of loads of family/kids pictures, and some understandably very upset people.
It’s an iPhone 12 running iOS 15.5
If anyone knows of a way to do it, or someone who might be able to help I’d really appreciate a heads up. Sorry if this is off topic but couldn't think of a better forum to ask.
>I've seen some software tools on the internet but they don't sound legit.

This story is incredible.
The standout's for me were:
* Plan - have a plan in place in advance
* Flow - recognise and shift bottlenecks + understand the impact to the system
* Prioritise - rank what is critical, urgent, or standard - and be ruthless
* Process - simplify the processes to make it more effective and efficient
* Shift - innovate and adapt in the face of changing circumstances.
These sound like no brainers, but reading the story you get a sense of how one individual pushing these forward in a tough situation had an incredibly powerful impact.
How could we apply these powerful lessons more widely?

I've been collecting quotes for years (publishing some of them here: http://thinkmindful.com )
For me other peoples pithy insights bring solace, a new way of looking at something, and a recognition that any struggles I may be going through are not unique to me.
Does the fact that some of them are wrongly attributed bother me? Only a little, I like to get it right. But the meaning behind the message is the main thing.

That was a fascinating read. The difference that makes the difference appears to be Gate's ability to focus sharply and in-depth and dedicate himself to that purpose. Notable from this piece is his ability to 'think different'. It's a challenging strategy for success which few can dedicate themselves too.
This piece by Malcolm Gladwell in the Guardian similarly covers 'think different' strategies - in this instance using examples of high achievers with Dyslexia or who were early orphans, and the strategies they construct to survive and thrive.
