I love this idea. I was working on a JavaScript dialect to make programming more approachable after watching non technical colleagues vibe coding. It was clear that learning programming concepts would make a world of difference

You will have to decide how you like to work, some people are trying to go all in on how agents work: let them run long sessions, set constraints through /skills, evals and context but then trust them to fully implement the code (dont even bother reading any code, reading code is an anti pattern). Others use AI like a junior developer, giving clear discrete tasks, monitoring and steering for architectural and coding style course correction and working on teaching it better practices through context management and rules. I am in the treat it like a junior camp but have also had products where I end up reading less code than I would expect.

You'll notice the tools push different perspectives, coding in VS will probably push more of the discrete task, AI as a junior dev approach, claude code/codex/pi/opencode etc can be more "autonomous, dont even show the diff" vibes with long running tasks that spit out 10,000 lines of code without even asking for any feedback or review.

What I have found is that planning documents are critical, start with an agile roadmap that links to epics files outlining large features. They should have clear acceptance criteria that act as gates to close out stories/sprints/epics. Every document should say "follow red/green TDD" so that testing discipline is a firm requirement.

I have also found that AI will go rogue no matter how good your context, planning, evals or TDD, so always work on a clean git branch so you can blow it up if the AI does something wrong. Treat AI sessions as experiments and prototypes and be careful of feeling sunk cost fallacy. Code gen is cheap so do implementations 4 times until you get "good" code/ui/ux architecture etc.

Except none of those were autonomous actors. And most of society was not as freaked out by any of those cycles.

Each of them did have some fairly serious downsides that required social policy to correct. I don't want to go back to the era of Charles dickens.

A monopoly in a domestic market is sufficiently harmful to be avoided. It doesn’t have to be totally global.

I owned a recording studio and small label before Napster and lime wire. I know a ton of musicians that lost the joy of making music due to piracy. I am glad you had fun. But also take a little joy in the loss of that joy but some how it seems asymmetric in your benefit.

Except the general trend has not been equal degrees of snap back but rather a general trend towards market consolidation, deregulation, lowering taxes and eliminating anti trust enforcement. If we went back to the regulation immediately post world War this country would feel profoundly different.

I agree with this for in-person payments. But surely stripe has a monopoly on development api payments and PayPal on e-commerce. What i would expect is that visa Master card try to buy the stripe/PayPal.

Most people missed my point. I am most concerned about a single person having a monopoly on satellite networks.

Vertical integration of launch capabilities and use of the satellites is an old monopolistic strategy.

Doubling prices over night is kind of an indicator of a monopoly.

I have 4 different types of smart glasses. I feel visceral aversion about the meta glasses because of passed abuses of data.
