What a completely thoughtless reply. No. MacBooks still offer an excellent value in part because MacOS is less of a tire fire than Windows 10 and the hardware is still near the top. They are premium product that continues to have outsized market share in the development and education segments. The iPhone ecosystem continues to offer distinct advantages over Android in terms of privacy, support and quality. And these facts are evidenced by the market. None of this will change overnight, but it can change and furthermore the thesis here is it will change if Apple doesn’t get its act together.

The diabetes/metabolic theory was one pitched theory, and it isn’t even a terribly mainstream one. There is no consensus that Alzheimer’s is a “metabolic disease”. Even thought ApoE is implicated, that association could be explained by numerous mechanism, even viral.

Your “next prion disease” is entirely hypothetical. Given that, it is pure speculation how to prevent its transmission. Why would you assume specific precautions taken would apply?

What is supposed about it? There are pictures right there. That hardware is mostly off the shelf components (SH-4 cpu, PowerVR Gpu, arm based sound dsp), the thing is basically just an “actual computer.”
