<p>I'd imagine so, there is a comment system for a reason. 
Although, most tend to stray away from long articles such as this one. Hacker News would benefit from a summation web application for articles like these.</p>

<p>This is a great precedent set by Facebook against a not so great one.I feel that this current trend is quite scary to think about.<p>Taking away someone's opportunity to be employed elsewhere oversteps the line between the employer and the employee's personal life.</p>

<p>I don't like the idea of curated comments. People aren't perfect and have biases. You may have set guidelines for what to endorse, but I guarantee endorsements are not going to be completely objective. Filtering comments and karma systems often become a popularity contest and not a discussion.</p>
