Thinking of exploring and experimenting with some of the local-first hyped technologies.

They’re probably a long way from actually delivering on their promise, but I’m a fan of those promises.

Have a good bit of experience with offline-first solutions which many SMBs kinda need and they’re typically underserved.

Mid 40s consultant here and just decided not to extend my contract as tech lead with current customer for another year.

Looking into meandering for a bit and regaining passion. Hopefully something small but sellable sprouts from that.

Looking forward to making my own decisions based on gut and not being stuck in the swamp of big company indecision.

I also found the "A Universe Explodes - A blockchain book" a pretty cool experiment.[1]

Would be interesting to see a big game publisher like Blizzard experiment with an item trading interface built on a blockchain to really cement the feeling of ownership.

Though I suppose Blizzard in particular would be opposed to a lot of what that implies.

The point the article is trying to make wrt immigration is that when the UK leaves the EU, it will also leave the free movement of workers zone, making it harder to attract immigrants, regardless of how London feels about them.
