I'm not expecting OP to do anything else, but in

I'm seeing a plea of "AI is really helpful, don't take it away", which might be true in a specific case but is supporting AI in general, and I got the feeling that is what OP wanted with their post. In my opinion, most of the money, energy, water and whatever else is getting invested in AI might be better invested elsewhere, with less damage to society and the environment and still the same nice outcomes.

Ehm, no. I want doctors by my side working in a system that is not meant to be producing gains for the rich investors but to help the sick and sad.

Just imagine what could be done with all those billions poured into datacenters and GPUs, if they were invested in public goods like a decent health system!

... which looks even more stupid when you can force quite a number of browsers to get you something through gopher if you just pretend it's http on port 70. of course you have to self interpret the result, but gophermaps are quite readable. :)

Perhaps continue to show those around you that the world is complex and that this is fine and no reason to be frightened? And fight for education which acknowledges the complexity of the world and teaches how to cope with it!

Then I do wonder why no company has come knocking to the door of the hospital room where I'm sitting right this minute waiting for my terminally ill mother to die. Because since years she's member of EXIT, the well-known Swiss institution that is providing assisted suicide services, and it would still take several weeks for us to jump through all the required paper and legal hoops to get the ball rolling. And now she being already unconcious and therefore incapable, most ways are blocked already, as others pointed out, so I'm not sure we could accelerate the process at all.

Sorry, but your comment smells rather about peddling fakery, especially as you have provided heaps of reliable references.
