I learned about Maslow in business school, and have come across the Hierarchy many many times since then, and I e never heard the term ‘Maslow’s Pyramid’.

Is this a regional thing, or common in a specific discipline?

They can legally reinstate the pages with a simple counter-claim / attestation though, but they don’t seem to have implemented that feature of the DMCA yet.

You're confusing salt with sodium - this enhances sodium ions, so it affects salt as well as MSG, which is tied to umami.

Umami != salty.

Your experience is not the norm, nor is it one I would recommend in most cases. You should find an agent you trust and can work with well to represent you, and they should be the only agent you ever have to speak to.

Dual representation can work out ok in some scenarios, but the hyper-inflated and super competitive market we're in right now isn't one of them.

If this is done by the CA legislature, it likely will be written as to not apply to most of us - will probably affect only hourly workers, and be written in a way that actually screws them over (eg, the company must give $X overtime pay and $X benefits at 32 hours, meaning even McJob will be limited to 31 hours from now on).

So yeah, I'd imagine pessimism is the reason HN seems to not care about this bill.

It was completely implausible - the chip that was identified could not possibly carry enough processing ability to do anything useful as far as espionage goes, had no connectivity to networking, and there was never any evidence of communication from these devices to anything suspicious or unknown.

Any crunching of what numbers? You and I have no idea how many Chinese people have been infected or died of COVID.

As recently as earlier this week the Chinese Gov’t was claiming 130k infections in Shanghai with zero deaths. Are those the numbers you’re trusting, or were you counting the pyres visible on satellite photos from areas that had ‘no COVID’ according to the CCP?

That’s patently ridiculous. A device that can put out a steady 5kw at nearly zero cost generates >15k worth of electric bill offset annually in California. That would make it worth at least 15k*MTBF…

It’s be less elsewhere, but there’s nowhere that this amount of electricity would be worth so little that $2k makes any sense.

That said, this smells like total Theranos level baloney, so it’ll never happen.

Sanctions only work that way in a world that doesn't exist - one with 100% agreement and compliance with sanctions at a nation-state level. The reason monetary controls are so critical to sanctions is that they make it more difficult for the countries that don't want to abide by the sanctions to do bypass them. Not impossible, but more difficult.

Not sure what part of the country you live in, but this kind of bread is available at even the smallest out-of-the-way grocery store anywhere in California, and on most of the west coast that I've been to. I know because my family is hooked on it...

I don't think either of those are true - at least not an any bakery I've ever been to.

Cakes are a very specific type of baked good, made with a batter not a dough, which do not use yeast for leavening. Cakes also do not rely on gluten, and in fact limit it's formation by utilizing low protein flour.

Also, bread dough will never 'pour' unless you've gone horribly wrong.
