The title at least sounds less like judgement and more analysis and more about AI assistance (and claude in particular) than rsync. Maybe I am too used to postmortems!

We can seperate them but the $ value of an agent that does is much lower than one that doesn't.

As a pre LLM analogy imagine working at a bank with a whitelist firewall. You need to install a package but requires an IT ticket. Safer but slooooower.

Now not saying what the answer here is but that is the issue.

The answer may be more like industries that get safer through lessons (like aviation) rather than go for 100% safety out of the gate. Because both fast travel and AI agents are insanely useful.

1. ChatGPT first public release (I am not one who saw early GPT models) I think late 2023 iirc?

2. Opus 4.6 w. Claude Code - not the model in partucular but happened to be when I started seriously trying to vibe code at home, as I saw all the hype on Linkedin. Yes linkedin sucks but it is somewhat a barometer. Around early this year.

Why? Knocking up decent enough web apps so quickly.

But will data centres tend to be near hotspots like current AWS main regions or typical edge locations like major cities. Then add all other requirements and you get that you probably stick some of that IMBY rather than in the middle of the desert.
