I've only had one Prusa printer, a MINI+ and it's been an absolute workhorse and easy to repair using the official instructions (I assembled my unit myself and pulled a zip-tie too tight, which caused the part cooling fan cable to break).
You do pay a premium. I, personally, also found PrusaSlicer to have better presets and usability than OrcaSlicer or it's forks.

I switched from Fusion to FreeCAD when I bid Windows goodbye (this video inspired me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEfNRST_3x8).
Fusion does a LOT of stuff for you that FreeCAD doesn't - i.e. extrude a pad from two intersecting shapes in a sketch. While this is annoying at first I feel it forces me to design smarter.
I've had a few crashes and the constraint solver sometimes seems to behave weird and takes a ctrl+z and a second attempt at the same action to properly add a constraint but overall my experience has been pretty positive.

If the router were compromised, what use would "Having a competent firewall on your residential router" be?
The edit was in response to "network operator's routers [...] don't perform any sort of filtering" and had nothing to do with C2 traffic?

Is there any residential router that exposes internal endpoints be default? I've yet to come across one that does not have a deny-any policy on it's WAN interface and has incoming destination NATs setup up.
What use is reducing the attack surface of a device which only ever initiates connections?
Edit: also there are network operators that block customer traffic on certain ports liike NetBIOS, SMB or SMTP to name a few.

I self host a mail server too. Static IPs are not available for a residential connection where I live which makes PTR and SPF records hard.
What I've been doing is using Oracle's "always free" VM to host VyOS as an ingress/egress router. It's been pretty easy to set up the mail server itself using iRedMail.
I've had some problems with spamhaus and outlook because that whole IP range is not trustworthy but otherwise it's just worked (Spamhaus was nice enough to put me on a whiltelist).
I know hosting at Oracle is not moving away from US cloud services but I set this up two years ago and this could be achieved using any cheap or free VPS.
