Iconify is a great library for using icons in webapps, but the official library makes client-side retrievals from Iconify's CDN at runtime.

This was deal breaker while I worked on an offline-first side project, so I built this library which downloads icons and adds it to your app's assets when Vite performs building.

I wouldn't be so surprised if they often fake user agents to be honest. Sure, it 'll stop the "more honest" ones (but then, actual honest scrapers would respect robots.txt)

They're just talking about official support (i.e. support tickets). It'll probably still run elsewhere, they're just not promising to help you with bugs on other hardware & configurations. Entirely reasonable IMO.

I've read the article. The point I'm getting at is that a vuln report will be taken more seriously if you present yourself in a pleasant manner.

It's pretty clear that the app has its issues (especially wrt to false reports), that I'm not disputing.

It's pretty likely the guy blocked the author after seeing them link a blog post insulting his work, no?

Sure he should take the vulnerability report seriously, but it's pretty clear that bundling a report above the words "activism theater" isn't going to make someone want to read it.

Instead, just "hey man, you're on a vulnerable version of httpd" is likely going to be more effective.

Distributed compute is cool, but $320 for 13 tokens/s on a tiny input prompt, 4 bit quantization, and 3B active parameter model is very underwhelming

To be fair, it is still useful on this front; it's much faster than waiting for requests to fail and fallback to a backup yourself.

You still need another backup provider or two for cases like this though.

I'd strongly advise against free VPNs; they are a massive security and privacy risk.

I truly hate the F2P mobile gaming industry. Clone a quality (and reasonably priced) PC game, add dark patterns and microtransactions, then make money hand over fist by taking advantage of people like this.

FOMO marketing, gambling mechanics, and unrepresentative ads really need to get self-regulated by the app stores, otherwise it's going to become necessary to legislate this.
