My prediction is that the semiconductor price increases is going to cause a lot of demand destruction. The semiconductor companies revenues is not based on new products but rather on the fact that there is scarcity. Once that scarcity is removed then I suspect that we're going to have some reckoning happening across the industry.
Just bought a MacBook Air that I didn't need to hedge in case my current laptop breaks down. Won't be buying it at the higher price.

I’ve been working on Broadcast since Sept 2024:
https://sendbroadcast.net
It’s a self-hosted email marketing/newsletter app. The basic idea is: own your subscriber database, run the app on your own server, and send through SES/Postmark/Mailgun/SMTP instead of being locked into another SaaS.
Not trying to be “Mailchimp but cheaper”. It’s more for technical founders, agencies, and consultants who want a boring, controllable email tool they can deploy for themselves or clients.
I’ve kept the changelog public because I wanted the work to be visible: https://sendbroadcast.net/changelog
My buyers are typically people who want to own their data and are in regions that have strict data privacy regulation/laws.
Interesting fact: This was my real last project where v1 was built by hand before AI coding became the norm in the software industry.

Also working on App Shot Editor [1], a free iOS/Google App store screenshot generator. Basically my kids were getting into mobile app development, and I wanted an easy way for them to create the screenshots needed for the app store listing.
[1] https://appshoteditor.com

A lot of folks building iOS apps these days (I wonder why). Heck, my kids decided to build some themselves the past couple of weeks.
When it came time to submitting to the app store, we needed app store screenshots. I didn't want to buy "yet another software".
So, I created this (Disclaimer: with the help of AI).
Enjoy.

Another way to look at it is that tracking what you eat is very difficult. Currently trying to lose a few pounds and doing calorie tracking. Practically carry a scale and a calorie tracking app with me. About once a day there's still some "estimation" involved due to the fact that all the ingredients are mixed together.
