Reminds me of internet archive’s emergency library that they felt magically didn’t have to follow the law because of COVID.

Some folks out there seem to have their otherwise good intentions sort of trend into self destructive waters.

JanSport was always a budget-ish / not great brand from what I remember. I used them, but high quality was never their thing.

I feel like Agile is just a tool. You adopt it, or parts of it and see if it works. If it does for your org awesome, if not for your org, try something else.

Organizations are all different IMO (even if slightly), and you gotta try things and move on.

Is it the fault of Agile if it doesn't work? I don't know, I'm more interested in finding what works.

I remember the hysterical "ban algorithms" type legislation that kept showing up in states for a while.

But like all humans we're often ok as long as it is "our guy" or "our algorithm".

I feel like pretending a department under this administration's thumb is actually going to act honestly is a bit absurd.

They made a donation ... somewhere. Now they're all good. None of Trump's bluster is honest, they're just graft gates.

It wasn't any different during the first administration. I worked at a company slated to be acquired by a foreign company. But the approval just never came from the feds. Then one day the acquiring foreign company CEO visited the White House and that day Trump approved it. Trump even made a little speech about jobs. Then we were all told we were going to be laid off... just like that almost all the American jobs gone. Shortly after one of Trump's companies announced a big land deal in the home country of the acquiring company. MEGA ...

The desire to impose bizarre-o world regulations ... hand in hand with Big Tech is really strange.

And we have to have some awkward legal agreement with every site and it's cookie banner, every damn site I visit.

BUT ... god forbid we just straight up come up with some rules about what a site can or can't collect or sell / share ...

When I was young I figured I'd be happy when people who understood computers / the internet were finally in power, but I was wrong about what the result would be.

I'm a bad speller. At some point I improved, but on the early days of the internet I would intentionally misspell things as it just got some folks really going like a light switch ;)

When I got into photography, I used to baby my camera equipment a lot. After all, I spent a lot of money I wanted to take care of it.

Later on the topic came up online and someone noted something to the effective of:

“If I saw a group of photographers taking pictures, I bet I could pick out the best photographer just based on how beat up their equipment is.”

I realized based on my own experience, that was probably true.

The idea being use your tools and worry about the output, not how they look.

I expect people to be different.

I don’t expect them to provide a platform for people who make it a point to hate others and advocate for removal of their / my rights and so on.

I put a dog dish and some chewed up tennis balls in my back yard by my back door.

When some folks came by checking for unlocked back doors years ago… they skipped my house.

Don’t even need the dog sometimes.

I believe Trump when asked about climate change said something to the effect of "I'll be dead by then."

I think that applies most everything he does in a way.

Generally I feel like that I always could do this ... it just wasn't always requested / time budgeted / folks didn't expect or care.
