Neat. Needs a bit of work though. At least 3 things come at the top of my mind: 1) Search 2) Categorization/keyword 3) Don't directly dump the page in an internal frame. Use some content summarization tool. I loved the way readability.js by arc90 worked. Use that. Do a world of good to your users and your website.

Even more so, the point I liked is about introducing the concept of open sourcing to medical equipment manufacture.

Maybe one day we'll see some more open sourced sophisticated equipment, which are not only portable, but also reasonably priced and better designed.

I particularly liked the way Harsha Bhogle compared how a nation clings to heroic figures during dark times. Don Bradman served as a hope to the cricketing fraternity of the time after the second World War and similarly Sachin was the fulcrum for the Indian people to look up to and induce a fighting spirit, especially after the Indian economic debacle of 1991-92.

Quoting it again, "When Sachin made a 100, India slept well."

If we talk about the broader perspective, so much credit should go to the Indian Supreme court and its patent office for taking bold stance, time and again, on this broken patent system, allowing generics to make affordable ones.

For example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novartis_v._Union_of_India_%26_... talks about how cancer drug were made affordable. Novartis (Switzerland) set the price of Gleevec at USD 2666 per patient per month (which is almost double of India's annual per-capita nominal GDP USD1414); Whereas, generic companies were selling their versions at USD 177 to 266 per patient per month. We can safely presume the situation to be much worse in Africa.

Based on this possibility, support is being replicated to Africa, notably for cancer, AIDS and TB.

IMO, it happened so, not because of their launch strategy but more so solely because of the product and the vision that they are selling. The launch plan is pretty much by the book, extra points for the media kit though, and full marks to the product!
