When I was teen in the 2010s I dreamed of working in Google or any other Big Tech, as they seemed to have the best engineering culture in the world atthe time. Nowadays, as a developer that still aspires to work in a place where people actually care about their deliveries, I'm trying to find positions in a better place, but where is this place? From my perspective, the FAANGs grew to be too corporative and are pushing out low quality products with AI labeled on it, most of startups I see out there are also trying to surf the AI hype. Where did the will power to create good and meaningful tech go?

Probably yes, the Mitsubishi conglomerate is about 150 years old and it's spread across many industries, they where especially influential during the world wars (look up for 'zaibatsu'), so one can suppose that they are very indluential.

I'm starting my carreer now, only have ~2 years of experience, how do you guys keep up to date with tech? I usually read HN and some other news and I love to play around with stuff that I find interesting, are there any other places that I can find new things?

I heavily use Chat GPT's API in my day job, as it is the core of our business (Ai-powered startup). When Gemini Pro launched, me and my team tested it in the same day for our product, but we where disappointed as it is was a bit worse than gpt 3.5 (at least in the same prompts that we already had). I really hope that Gemini Ultra surpass gpt4, it is always exciting to see and use new advanced tech, but I'm still a little skeptical about it, since Pro wasn't that great...

Very inspiring passage. I had this feeling of playing around with stuff (Programming in my case) in the beginning of my studies, but it faded away over time because of work. Even though I work in a wonderful project, I feel burned out a lot nowadays. Might lookout for that initial feeling again now, I probably won't achieve as much as Feynman, but I hope that removing the pressure and enjoying what I'm doing might be good for mental health
