I'd argue that "native" is much more of a state of mind than a clear delineation anyways.
Among many game developer studios, the Steamdeck is increasingly becoming the defacto low-spec hardware target. Basically, running their game on a Steamdeck becomes a core part of the QA process, basically because there's a few million Steamdecks out there actively playing games, and if your game runs on a Steamdeck you basically know it'll also run on a very wide range of hardware configs.
So while the game might be targeting a different API than the standard ones exposed on Linux machines, a lot of games now are directly designing their software to make sure they run well on a Linux handheld. Meanwhile, Linux is adopting more and more features to better support this non-standard API set.
At a certain point I think we can just call Proton/WINE a 'native' API for gaming on Linux, and say that games developed with Proton/WINE in mind are native games.
Perhaps we're not at that point yet, but we might be there soon.

It typically will only outperform Windows *if* you are running lower-end hardware. The main thing here is that when running on Linux, your game is typically in less contention with the OS for getting access to CPU cores and RAM.
If you have a beefy CPU and plentiful RAM, then typically one should expect Linux to be slightly behind Windows performance (though there are exceptions), because then Windows' bloat becomes a non-issue, and the impact of the translation layers start to become more significant.

Not the person you asked, but I found this list of earmarked uses for the money:
* Improving KDE Plasma & KDE Linux QA Infrastructure
* Improving KDE Plasma’s Recoverability Mechanisms
* Implementing Factory Reset Functionality for KDE Linux
* Improving Security Infrastructure for Organisational Usage across KDE Plasma
* Improving Data Backup and Restore Systems
* Strengthening Configuration Management as Core Desktop Infrastructure
* Improving Network Shares Experience
* Building KDE PIM QA Infrastructure and an End-to-End Testing for IMAP4 and WebDAV
* Supporting IMAP4rev2
* Supporting WebDAV Push Notifications
* Standardising Account Configuration
* Improving KDE PIM Suite Desktop Integration with Flatpak-Based Delivery
So at the very least, the QA Infrastructure and Security Infrastructure will almost certainly result in quicker finding and reporting of upstream bugs, and potentially even KDE devs working on fixing those upstream bugs.

1. EV sales are skyrocketing in most of the world.
2. EV sales going down does not contradict what that person said, unless you have data about people who already own EVs are suddenly switching back to combustion, which is not observed.
If you have any data contradicting those, I'd love to see them, otherwise I think you're just spouting rot.

Not at all a wild bet. German electricity prices *routinely* swing by over 150€/MWh on a daily basis year round. That's a massive spread to make money off of.
For a good chunk of the year (April through to October), the prices even go negative at mid-day most days of the week. This will pay itself off very quickly

This installation is actually also co-located with renewables:
> It cooperates with a 53-hectare ground-mounted PV system operated by Solizer in direct proximity, which is supposed to deliver a peak output of 72 MW (MWp). Due to changes in tender conditions, large solar power projects and battery storage systems are increasingly being planned together.
___________
As obliquely referenced with the "changes in tender conditions", solar overproduction now causes negative midday electricity prices on a near daily basis in Germany from April through to October so long as it's not super cloudy.
Therefore, anyone with a solar installation that doesn't get a special constant feed-in rate for their electricity (no longer available for commercial entities) would actually pay money to feed their solar into the grid.
Therefore it's absolutely vital for new solar in Germany to have batteries on-site so they can sell later in the day, otherwise they're simply unprofitable.

Bluetooth is also very slow. Airdrop and Localsend achieve speed by using local wifi networks. The problem with Localsend is that the user themselves need to manage the creation of the local network.

I literally said that in my comment:
> The workaround I've found after switching to an Android device has been to teather my connection to my friend's device, which ends up creating a LAN that Localsend can work through, but this is not as nice an experience.

Not generally, I just don't have that specific phone that has implemented the workaround, and so this isn't a solution for me.
Apple has consistently done everything it can to self-sabotage their implementations of stuff to comply with EU anti-trust legislation like the stuff with digital marketplaces, so I'm not holding my breath on this.

That's an even worse solution than the hacky workaround of just teathering my internet connection.
The whole point of these solutions is to not have to transmit data over the internet, it should work over a local dynamic connection.
