Americans consumer may continue to buy European goods at a higher price, but that's only roughly a third of the pie. The bigger part is European firms selling intermediate goods and capital goods to companies. There is not fuzzy preference in that marked, it's very cost driven. The extra tarif will tilt the balance heavily in favour of domestic producer.
And these tarifs will not go away quickly. Those domestic producers who benefited will lobby hard to keep them, no matter who sits in the white house.

We use the CO2 to synthesize methanol with the H2 we electrolyze using surplus solar energy. The methanol we burn in winter for heat. Yes, that releases the CO2 again. The goal here is not to save the planet. It is to bring solar energy to winter. My house produces many times the electricity that it needs per year, but most of it is wasted in summer. Efficient conversion is not a factor. If I can get 20% of the energy input back as heat in winter, it is worth it: that is oil or wood I don't have to burn for heat.

Windsurf at the moment. It now can run multiple "flows" in parallel, so I can set one cascade off to look into a bug somewhere while another cascade implements a feature elswhere in the code base.
I agree that there is a lot of uncertainty about the longevity of batteries. However, it seems to me that the extra depreciation is driven by price cuts of new electric cars.
The article mentions an "electric car could expect to lose £24,000 in value over three years, while a similarly priced petrol car could lose £17,000" - Naturally, given that the sales price of the EV came down by £7,000 last year alone (i.e. Tesla Y).

I started my first job as a software developer in 1990. We ran only the production environment and of course had lenghty down times. I changed jobs frequently and by about 1994, I found dev and prod environments everywhere. By 1998, dev/test/prod setups were the norm.
