One aspect the article seems to overlook is Albanian. Since Albanian is a unique branch of Indo-European, descending from the Paleo-Balkan linguistic world and developed in the same broader region, it would be interesting to see whether the non-Greek substrate vocabulary found in Ancient Greek has been systematically compared with Proto-Albanian and other reconstructed Paleo-Balkan material.

Google Cloud and AWS are complex because they're meant for hosting complex apps and infrastructure, they're not really worth it for simple static websites.

Author here. The table did actually have a primary key, during the migration it was changed to unique, and then the new auto-incremental primary key was added.

I've updated the article to make that part clear.

I agree that having the binlog_format to ROW is the only option that make sense, which thankfully seems to be the default now.

Author here. I didn't make it clear in the article but the table in question did have a primary key, which was migrated to an unique key, and then the new auto-incremental primary key was added.

As I mentioned in the article, the old ID field was then used in the update statement for the other tables.

I'm updating the article now to make that part clear.

That's quite paranoid, they surely are annoying, but certain ads can be relevant.

Actually, from what I've noticed X/Twitter ads are way worse than the ones on Meta platforms.

And I completely hate seeing ads on YouTube or when browsing random websites in general.

Everything you said is incorrect. Redis does have transactions, as well as data persistence. All cloud providers provide managed redis instances with automatic backups as well.

The choice already exist: don't use social media like Instagram and TikTok. Yet everyone keep choosing it despite being addictive.

So you can't really trust people, even less teenagers, to make a disciplined choice of not using an addictive algorithm.
