Is it ethical or legal for companies to scrape GitHub stars for spam purposes?

Just got an email from jack.flynn@gatsbyjs.com with some spam and he mentioned that he got my information from the stargazers list of the Gatsby repo.

Is this something I should bother reporting to GitHub? I will likely never star another repo again because it's been proven to be a good source of spam.

As long as there's an option to remove them, I look at ad-supported games as a demo. I'll always gladly pay to remove the ads if I like the game enough to play it more than a couple times.

I Google'd "Porsche Taycan 30000" and found these sources for the 30k pre-orders claim:

There is almost-certainly no source for the "most of those customers currently own a Tesla" statement, because that's not something Porsche would ever disclose.
