It does feel like the post is missing some deserved self-reflection.

Great stuff in this release.
Also thanks to the influx of former Unity users a lot of tools / modules / templates have been given a shot in the arm and the general maturity of Godot has increased a great deal recently. Its not yet at a level that some people would want, but its great to see progress.

> "Before you think we are anarchist hippies rejecting all systems and institutions outright"
Not even close, you sound like Libertarian-adjacent technologists who have been believing your own hype / some other equivilent metaphor.
Technology has a role to play in education that is as-yet unrealised and while I cannot speak for all of them, I know the system in place in the UK is behind the curve.
The solution to this isn't to pull your kids out and use them as the cornerstone of an individualised experiment but to fight for better funding of the educational system itself.
I hope this does not have any negative consequences for the kids who are the recipients of this trial.

Agreed, this is really smart.
I imagine (hope!) it also cuts down on recurring feature requests as it allows you to open up the realm of possibility for using the library in the users head - instead of needing to program in every use case, you introduce someone to serving themselves.

This post is fascinating- it uses "I" and "We" so interchangeably that it is almost dizzying.
I want to ask them: what do you want? If you run your own Mastodon server you have a large degree of control over how that is run and federates, so can customise your experience. To continue the analogy, you can stop people invading your house party.
Then there is the cultural lamentation and the "no-one asked if I wanted that" line, which is wild because cross-posting has been around for as long as there have been platforms. It just happens.

I love Swatch Internet Time - as others have mentioned, I used it constantly via Phantasy Star Online on Dreamcast. I used the .beats watchface on my Pebble until it died, too.
A second run at .beats with a clear mind and an open standard could nail down the awkward parts (Set 000 as midnight UTC for example) but I doubt there is the motivation to try the exercise again.
