It's the same argument why Google isn't never considered a monopoly to the online ads space. Because the whole ads industry is much larger.
Same thing with card payments. There are online card payments and in-store card payments and other kinds of payments. Stripe + Paypal volume is considered a fraction of it.

The same business model that Deepseek is using.
Open-source models + services. This is more attractive because it doesn't lock in the vendors. If I grow larger, I can decide to deploy the open-source models.

> is barely any more "effort" than buying and holding SPY, as the work is being entirely delegated
Effort is translated to money e.g. you do it yourself or you hire someone to do it; someone is spending that large amount of effort that is valued at millions of dollars/year.
If SPY is so great, then wealthy people would've just bought SPY.
But that's not what they are doing. They pay fund managers top money (think top 0.1% earner) to invest for them.
> Many strategies are dependent on that level of wealth (or designed to address problems that only apply to that level of wealth) for tax-related reasons.
Their main goal is to grow the funds. Tax-saving is secondary at best. Nobody would be okay with shrinking the fund to acquire tax-saving lol.

Because they obviously tried to make it any insult by attacking the person they discussed with.
Who said it wasn't about Palestine? Who even thinks that? We are talking about the protest regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict, right?
So, you think Palestine is irrelevant to the discussion of ... rolling the dice ... the Israel-Palestine conflict

Palestine aims to annihilate Israel ... cue "from the river to the sea".
They both want to kill each other. It's only that one side is winning.
Not sure why you need to mislead. It has been clear for 50 years at least.

> Also, winning by one of the narrowest margins in US election history
This dude said he would help commit genocide and became the first republican to win popular votes in 20 years.
> The Israeli-Palestine conflict is far from the #1 priority of things US voters consider when voting in presidential elections.
If a president promises to commit a genocide, I don't think any kind of policies would get voters (who are against genocide) to vote for him.
It's certainly not #1 priority but it is a deal breaker.

You were definitely angry given your comment here "If you didn't want to discuss that, then you shouldn't have brought it up."
If you weren't, we would just discuss normally without insulting that the other side didn't have intention to discuss in a discussion forum.
So, somehow my comment angered you that you had to resort to the tactics of undermining the other side.

> Most Americans would prefer that we fund neither.
I'd say, based on the latest election result, this isn't true.
Trump was basically like: I'm gonna fuck up Palestine.
Yeah, meanwhile all the wealthy people actively manage their port with an insane amount of efforts. They would compensate hedge fund manager with insane amount of money.
Then, they turn around and tell average people to forget about the investment. Just park your money in the index fund over the long run. I mean, if you are either stupid or don't have time, then yeah please only do index fund.
