I am in the same boat, every time I like something, it is a commercial failure. They should really hire me to check if I like whatever project they got in mind and if I do, cancel immediatetly and save the losses from being a failure.

I like the idea, but would like to be able to select a language and see the small web of that language. There are more languages than English, and this tool could make them thrive.
Also somehow if they are clever, they could use this for those translation system they are using, but please let us select our own language without feeding automatic translation like youtube does).

That is what I meant, they are no different from any other brand. But they could be. They could guarantee no enshitification, or an open platform.

Exactly that is my point. They could be.
There is no incentive to buy Philips over any chinese brand if they all are going to spy.
But it could be different. Like how Oneplus allowed Cyanogen on their devices.

Here could some European company that already makes tv to step in and create something good, with no ads, and even better if they promise to open the sourcecode, bootloader etc... Something like Philips for example. But I guess they are too busy making lightbulbs to notice that they could fill that gap on the TV market space.

What about the "App and device verification based on Google Play Integrity API and Apple App Attestation" that was in the readme?
Was this discarded? Is it not necessary anymore? Can someone without writing their own implementation use the app without using any of those two?

Adding a text that has a couple of pixel white borders is something possible in GIMP, yet a nightmare compared with photopea which just copy cs2 way of doing it.
And that is without having to edit the text in case you made a tipo.
Now, if we are talking about doing batch image editing in python. Gimp us the best tool I've found.

I never understood this UI problem.
Because... You can copy the UI of the leader and problem solved.
There you have GIMP with an absolute nightmare UI to use, but people keep saying, just get used to it. On the other hand, a single developer, in javascript, made a copy of photoshop, and most people I know prefer to use that over GIMP...
Just copy the UI that works, if you can't research your own UI.

Dealing with Honor support is a pain. A python notebook might help at creating the figures for example, but I can already do that with QGIS layouts.
If the working environment allows for checking/reviewing within the notebook, I guess this could help automatise things.
