Hyped by those stories, I connected an agent to my old Chinese xiaomi phone and asked to install lineageOS on it.

After several days, it managed to brick it and unbrick it. The boot loader is still locked.

I have attempted to use an agent to try to unlock the boot loader of an old xiaomi phone to install lineage OS. It managed to brick and unbrick the device, but there boot loader is still locked.

At least most of the Spanish one can be banned by blocklisting a whole company. which is what I did following a guide I found, and have reduced my Spam calls from 2 per day, to 3 per year.

However, the only way to solve this I believe is that you could once you get an unsolicited call to press a combination like ##01, and automatically this is passed to an agency that deals to punish whoever is behind the call in real time. At least if they call from a national number.

It does not rally matter if there is a conspiracy behind or not. You can't buy a phone that has a new powerful processor, dual-sim, sd-card and 3.5mm jack. It is just does not exist.

As user I don't care if it is a cartel or just "more profitable", but if this situation destroys companies that makes business from consoles or pc-gaming. Then it will be the colapse of the industry. First will be the hardware, once the hardware is gone, will be the software...

Not sure what country are you from. Last time I tried to make a throwaway account to sell something in Facebook Marketplace I was welcome with a submit picture to test if you are real which when uploaded with a IA generated picture got blocked.

Would not make more sense to install a traffic light with a button, press button, goes red for cars, kids cross. They could also have the button deactivated at school hours and work with a time counter.

I am in the same boat, every time I like something, it is a commercial failure. They should really hire me to check if I like whatever project they got in mind and if I do, cancel immediatetly and save the losses from being a failure.

I like the idea, but would like to be able to select a language and see the small web of that language. There are more languages than English, and this tool could make them thrive.

Also somehow if they are clever, they could use this for those translation system they are using, but please let us select our own language without feeding automatic translation like youtube does).

That is what I meant, they are no different from any other brand. But they could be. They could guarantee no enshitification, or an open platform.

Exactly that is my point. They could be. There is no incentive to buy Philips over any chinese brand if they all are going to spy.

But it could be different. Like how Oneplus allowed Cyanogen on their devices.

Here could some European company that already makes tv to step in and create something good, with no ads, and even better if they promise to open the sourcecode, bootloader etc... Something like Philips for example. But I guess they are too busy making lightbulbs to notice that they could fill that gap on the TV market space.

What about the "App and device verification based on Google Play Integrity API and Apple App Attestation" that was in the readme?

Was this discarded? Is it not necessary anymore? Can someone without writing their own implementation use the app without using any of those two?

Pretending that bugs don't kill people is not the way forward to solve the issue of having bugs in absolutely everything we have to deal with, sometimes by force.
