I was in a project where we sent the whole taxonomy every request, 40k tokens + one article, ”plz classify”. This was before structured outputs. It was extremely expensive and still hallucinated. Good ol’ days.

the vpn is called dev-test-prod and some containers are stored in a dev subscription, but still used in production. Some intangible network error forces you to use the production cluster for testing (the bucket is at least called test).

I feel this kind of setup is invariant everywhere I go to do engineering. Fable level intelligence has no effect!

What the hell. I passed all the test for driving cabs in Stockholm, Sweden. I had to memorize 20 regions in the city. I wonder if this requirement applies to all taxi drivers, including Uber.

I don’t know if this helps, as kids don’t make it easier BUT they do make you much more aware of how valuable your time is. One free hour as a parent feels like a full free day to someone without kids.

TL;DR get kids.

Is this a so-called humble brag? FYI my notebooks are messy, unorganized and dirty (from lying unprotected in my backpack). I rarely use it because I always lose the pen after each scribble.

I love what I am hearing. I still see a lot of engineers using pandas, but it is such a horrible tools. You usually find an abandoned notebook with 100s of ”df_final_2” with sequential wrangling, making it impossible to understand what’s happening. Notebooks are also horrible for the same reason IMO.

With chat-your-data you have Hex, Claude + MCP, snowflake, Databricks etc… everyone’s in on it.
