As far as conspiracies goes, this one pretty much borders on open secret.
> In his first term, Schröder's government decided to phase out nuclear power, fund renewable energies
> Since leaving public office, Schröder has worked for Russian state-owned energy companies, including Nord Stream AG, Rosneft, and Gazprom.
Gerhard Schröder has not worked for russian nuclear reactor companies for a reason.

> Okay, you also get some obscure information like whether there were an even or odd number of 1 bits in the bottom 8 bits of result, but that’s hardly useful nowadays.
I'm honestly curious, was it ever useful, or is it just an expression?

I'm a non native english speaker trying to read this book, sort of gave it up around (i think) half to read other books in the waiting list. Most of the interludes are not that engaging to me (whale classification chapter comes to mind), which is a pity since I enjoyed the actual narrative.

I've been doing some spare chess programming on a GUI myself (non-intensive on-off work for 1 year so far) and I decided to stay with the naive method (12 bits, straightforward src and dest squares) for compressing moves. It's obviously easier and faster to implement, I'm not hostage for some wacky bugs I could have done, and it's straightforward to parse and to format to long algebraic form (e2e4), which is the format UCI likes to receive (stockfish, for instance) and to store to a file.
Having said that, I might take a look into this 8 bit format :)

I just got started on writing a SAT solver (https://github.com/rjmacready/sat-solver) (this is not working ATM) and while I’ve been finding some resources, I feel like I’m missing something … does anyone have some beginner pointers on SAT solver implementation? I was looking for something like pseudocode, algorithm visualization (like this http://www.cs.usfca.edu/~galles/visualization/Algorithms.html, for instance), anything.
Also if anyone knows about how can they be applied in a compiler (typesystem, optimization, …), feedback is also welcomed.
