Hi, I’m working on Trophikos, a recipe organization app for iOS. Not a meal planner, not a social feed. Just a calm, well-designed place to collect your own recipes, food, baked goods, and even native support for cocktails. Manual entry, OCR importing, URL importing, and the ability to share and export.
I’m still actively working on it but just submitted to App Store review. TestFlight is open if anyone wants to try it before launch: https://testflight.apple.com/join/baWAQ4tj
Happy to hear any feedback, especially from people who currently store recipes across Notes, screenshots, and 15 open browser tabs.
I am actively working to support iOS 27 (and the other 27 OS’s) and will be posting development updates over on mastodon: https://mastodon.social/@saxtechsolutions

How can they justify an exponential price increase like this? The blog post doesn’t really mention new features aside from bringing features from the desktop website to the mobile app…
Even though I bought my lifetime membership years ago, I think it’s time to explore other options. I don’t like this.

I am not a full back-end developer, more full stack currently. I do not have a portfolio. Linking to github and highlighting projects is usually enough for prospective employers and gets me into interviews.

Meta's algorithm on IG has gone so far down the toilet over the years. Before I deleted my account last year, I'd have to scroll through 5-7 sponsored posts before I'd actually see something from someone I actually follow. Nevermind the amount of regular old ads that were inserted into my feed.

My brother jumped on the Ioniq 5 deal back in October and just got hit with the surprisingly high registration fees too. I know registration fees in CO are high, but having people jump on sub $200 a month car payments and then expecting them to pay $1000+ or more to register feels bad.

Recently interviewed with a startup, and during the process via email, I was constantly communicating with different people. After the 3rd interview with the CTO, I thought they ghosted me and emailed the last interviewer and got no response. Over a week later the director of engineering emailed me to schedule the 3rd interview with the CTO. I immediately knew that they had internal communication issues and decided I wasn't going to pursue the role further.
My current role has a somewhat misleading title, but to offset that I make sure I really highlight my experience and the projects I've worked on. If an interviewer starts asking me about my title and why I'm applying for something more 'generic' I immediately know they didn't read my resume or pay attention and I'm out.
Years ago I walked out of an all day interview, maybe 2 hours in, because one of the engineers was on his phone the entire time, seemingly just scrolling and not paying attention.

I am not sure about your idea here, I'm under 35, own my home, and insist on buying second hand furniture for vastly different reasons. I scour craiglist, thrift stores, and my local flea markets for vintage furniture, and have almost entirely furnished my small 2 bedroom house over the last 6 years. A big part of this simply deals with build quality and real wood. I know furniture built before 1980 tends to be real wood, and I'd much rather have solid wood construction over particle board nonsense that won't last 10 years.
My searching and insistence has required a lot of patience, but it's ultimately been worth it for me. My holy grail was a 1970's Danish Teak dining room table (w/ 8 chairs!) that someone locally was selling for $800. Anything modern that's of comparable quality would easily be well above $2500. As of now, almost everything in my house is from the 1960/70s, and made of real wood. I'm willing to spend the money on these things instead of junk from Wayfair.

While travelling, being able to have a rather large library of classic games to play, while using the device that I'm already carrying is a huge benefit. While I wish emulation on iOS was a little easier, using Delta/AltStore is not difficult or anything.
I've carried a Backbone with me and played a ton of GBA games with touchscreen controls and the backbone, and it's pretty great, depending on the game. Carrying the backbone is a lot smaller than a Nintendo Switch or one of the many larger screened android emulation devices that are now available.
This is all up to personal preference obviously, but having one less device to carry is a big plus for me. Game emulation is the one thing that makes me question whether or not it's time to ditch iOS and just get an Android for my daily driver...
