Oh hey, I made that[0] at a previous apartment! It sat on my LAN and I'd VPN in if I was out of wifi range.

I struggle to find time/motivation for stuff like that these days. I was contracting back then and had downtime between jobs.

For even more savings: One netip.Prefix will use less memory than two netip.Addr

Better still, use the free geolite ASN MMDB with geoip2-golang[0]. Or the lower-level maxminddb-golang[1] if you only need certain fields.

FYI something is wrong with your client side routing. From the blog post, clicking on your logo, the URL updates to the homepage but the content doesn't change til I do a full page reload.

It's like designers are the very first corner to cut. Or the dev is expected to also be a designer. It's a very different skill set. I'll build your mock-ups, or copy the look and feel of something else, but I can't design my way out of a paper bag. My brain just doesn't seem to work that way.

It seems they identify so closely with dotnet that any perceived criticism is taken as a personal slight. It's the only thing that explains such a rabid response to a reasonable observation.

They are in that institution because they didn't respond to the threat of penalties.

Even if the penalty were death, a new inmate would be coerced to grab the package under threat of a worse death.

TypeScript is nice here because you can specify the specific strings you accept in a union. Eg. `unit: 'AC'|'DC'`

It can be an aspect of it. For example, if there are suddenly many unique fingerprints making purchases from the same residential IP, that might look suspicious.

Granted, I'm not aware of a lack of fingerprint being penalized. That said, there are products that allow custom rules, in which case anything is possible.

We're in the midst of a couple rewrites that are going/have gone well. Perl to golang and angular1 to react.

The common factor is doing it gradually, basically page by page. There is no big switchover, new code goes live as it is ready. We have some very competent people with long tenures which surely helps.
