I'm surprised that it seems no-one has brought up Residuality (see https://www.architecture-weekly.com/p/residuality-theory-a-r...) which is a very interesting take on architecture (as opposed to design) which aligns with my own experiences.
As well as the book (https://leanpub.com/residuality) the author has one on the philosophy of architecture (https://leanpub.com/architectsparadox).

Switch to the view that shows just the last year and you'll see lots of news sites.
This matches what I've been sensing (rightly or wrongly) in that the mix of stories has shifted from computer science and engineering to have a more business and general interest mix since I first started reading HN regularly. This goes for the sources as well as the stories themselves.

Well I have one of those and it was properly packaged, sounds like the reviewer bought one that dropped off the back of a van to me.

You might also want to look at Pex4Fun which has a bunch of little coding challenges (you'll need to select F# if it isn't already). Hit 'Ask Pex' to get going.
http://www.pexforfun.com/Page.aspx#learn/

No, F# runs everywhere C# does - you don't need a PC.
