I've had monovision after LASIK for about 5 years now. The brain adjusts in a few weeks and you cease to notice it. It rises to my awareness when I close one eye. Occasionally I'll notice it when trying to focus on something outside the center of my field of view but generally, no. It's an effective way to preserve near and far vision simultaneously.
That said, I've heard a fair number of people hate it and I get that.

Presence of the original Silk Road would indicate at least a pre-2014 start. Also a few other early darknet markets in there.

Nor can I very well. After some googling, I see that apparently this would be called "auditory affective agnosia" (if it were at the level of neuropsychological pathology). I wonder if this software could be used diagnostically in disorders that are associated with deficits in empathy or emotional identification -- autism, Antisocial or Narcissistic Personality Disorders, etc.
Perhaps it could also be used as a therapeutic tool. One could train with it in order to reduce the affective threshold at which one detects emotion.

When I was in, there was at least one "celebrity" inmate living with me maintaining his twitter feed in the same way -- dictating to a friend over the phone. A twitter feed on its own is not indicative of the experience and brutality of his incarceration. Hopefully he'll speak to that himself and raise awareness. But do not doubt, he faces a threat to his safety by doing so.
I think, with an eye toward's the arc of history, that some day I'll see Chelsea Manning's term commuted and Edward Snowden pardoned.
I hope, at least. It's a disturbing alternative to countenance. In this country the prisoner is always regarded as subhuman. And his suffering is effectively irrelevant.

I was so excited to finally get my Soylent and give it a go. I really wanted to like it. Unfortunately by the second day I found it aversively unpalatable, almost sickening to drink. Along with intense gastrointestinal distress (think food poisoning-level liquefaction) I gave up and now its sitting in the box under my desk collecting dust. I wouldn't even put it in a bomb shelter, I think it would decrease my chances of survival.
