This would be ideal for myself.

I spend $1500/year on insurance and about $1000 in gas on a car I barely ever drive.

I am slow to get ready and leave the house as well.

If this thing could just show up at my doorstep and drive me to the grocery store and back every couple of weeks for a few dollars that would be incredible!

Plus I don't have to make smalltalk with a driver, bonus!

Not to mention the space I would save in my garage.

Just a thought from an armchair-anthropologist here.

Perhaps a chemical reaction transpired over the course of the typical duration of a Neolithic house before it burned?

Unless they built it and waited a few decades before burning it down... it's not the same thing.

Another idea is that perhaps more dung was used than we imagine?

In which case if the building was mostly made of fuel and less clay I could see it building up enough heat to vitrify the clay.

The entire Bitcoin miner reward model is the defense for this attack.

Nation states have powerful computers... but nowhere near as powerful as the decentralized Bitcoin mining network combined.

Even if they did currently, the endgame for Bitcoin as envisioned by Satoshi Nakamoto was for everyone on the planet to be mining Bitcoin at the same time.

If a Nation State could ever become more powerful than every single private processor on the planet combined... I think it would be game over for a lot more than just Bitcoin.

I really don't know what all the fuss is about.

Robinhood decided to halt trading on a number of stocks due to uncommon volatility, just for a day, so they can assess the matter. [0]

And as is common practice in the trading world... when a market is closed, you are still allowed to close your position.

Which means that you are allowed to sell, and not buy.

(If robinhood allowed for true shorting then people could still technically buy by closing their short positions as well.)

It's not some huge conspiracy to keep the price down for the little guy.

It's actually a fairly common practice in financial exchanges around the world.

I remember sitting in third grade class, red in the face, hand patiently up in the air for minutes straight, simultaneously crying and pissing myself in my chair while Tiffany pointed and laughed at me with her bright red cheeks!

I was a good kid!

If I had of robbed or killed someone and been to Juvenile Hall, my pants would probably have been dry.

To be fair, that is a Kitchen to a great number of people on this planet.

I shared a mini fridge, tiny sink, and a hot plate with 2 other roommates when I lived in Paris for a few months and the rent was not cheap their either.

Was about 2,000 Euros/mo 15 years ago iirc.
