Oracle cloud is part of the HN bubble?

From what I gather AWS also offers AMD and ARM-based instances.

I don't see how it benefits the cloud providers not to offer these choices. No one benefits from a monopoly and they want to drive the cost of their services down.

I love this article and I think about it every time I see Assange in the news.

Ignoring whatever you think of his actions and the political ramifications, it paints a vivid picture of a deeply flawed human.

Look at the platform demographics and the target audience. For example if you're targeting developers, the market share increases significantly!

AFAIK it's also proportional to the number of rows with data in the indexed columns. Inserting a row with a NULL in the indexed column does not cause an update to the index (at least experimentally it doesn't seem to contribute to index size on SQL Server).

I imagine this is/was a simple optimization for DBMS to implement, but I would love to be corrected otherwise...

I like this honesty and transparency, employers such as Microsoft encouraging it's employees to act in this way is a good thing.

Shutting down discussion behind lawyers and bland public statements should be discouraged.
