Did you read the documentation I linked? There's also high/medium/low settings that use XDG signals to determine if focus should change.

What? You can set it to let apps steal the focus you want. I can set it to not allow any apps to steal focus. How are we not both satisfied?

Maybe it's a hazy memory, but from 2007-2011 my main computer was a MacBook Pro. I swear in that era, when an app wanted attention it would bounce in the dock endlessly.

That was annoying, but it let you finish doing what you were doing until you were ready to switch focus.

One of my absolute favourite features on KDE Plasma with Wayland is the global setting to control what can steal focus. It works wonderfully, and I always miss it when I have to use my work mac or windows computers.

The article says "games", which I took to be more likely to be video games. These are teenagers after all. And if they're safe and goofing around gaming in a youth club, they're less likely to be doing antisocial behaviour on the street.

Yeah there's some weirdness too, it's heavily optimised for the Deck, low rez textures, low shadow quality etc.

So if you force it to run on your Linux desktop you don't get an experience commensurate with your hardware.

I took a screenshot of the graph in cloudflare when I switched on the bot challenges.

I wrote the below to explain to our users what was happening, so apologies if the language is too simple for a HN reader.

- 0630, we switched our DNS to proxy through CF, starting the collection of data, and implemented basic bot protections

- Unfortunately whatever anti-bot magic they have isn't quite having the effect, even after two hours.

- 0830, I sign in and take a look at the analytics. It seems like is very popular in Vietnam, Brazil, and Indonesia.

- 0845, I make it so users from those countries have to pass a CF "challenge". This is similar to a CAPTCHA, but CF try to make it so there's no "choosing all the cars in an image" if they can help it.

- So far 0% of our Asian audience have passed a challenge.

I did! It's very cool tech. However for our config it was easier to slap CF in front of it.

I will say one very appealing use of Anubis I'd love to try is using it as a Traefik middleware to protect services running in docker containers.
