This is an open source chrome extension to evaluate ingredient on Amazon, Kroger and other online stores using LLAM3.2

BYOK - You can improve the evaluation using your own LLM API key.

You can host it yourself. I used Opus 4.5 for most of the implementation. It’s local first and privacy first. MIT licensed.

Ask HN: SaaS influencers/Guru on YouTube, X and Reddit

Just want honest opinions about influencers lecturing SaaS business ideas on YouTube and X and Reddit.

It seems that it is easy to have an idea off the ground and just have money rolling in with some effort.

It's good and too good to be true.

I'm not here to bash anyone who's talking SaaS ideas on these social platform.

As an entrepreneur-wannabe myself, I'm learning and trying to make it myself.

If you are making money, why you share the good business idea in the open? SaaS is hard to make money. If you found a niche area, you want to keep it to yourself for as long as possible before anyone else step in.

There are a few categories. (1) AI generated content and AI driven SEO techniques. (2) Boring business categories. Buying car wash shop, laundromat, self-storage business.

Tell me what is your experience as business founders on how did you make you first dollar? What do you think of the future of your business?

Try to search on recoll.org to see how to grant permission on Mac. So little information on the website.

The indexing process ask permission for each directory. It's getting so annoying. Need help.

My current system is using Python3.11

For virtualenv, you can create python3.10 using

virtualenv SOME_PY_ENV_NAME -p python3.10

This is the result:

There have been tons of discussion on FOSS and pay on the works that's bee done on HN.

Without FOSS, the development of software, startups and big techs won't be imaginable.

How to make free and high-quality open source work sustainable?

If some firms benefit from open source project and need a more specific sets of features, they can pay the contributors under some agreement.

How many organizations are just doing that?

Hi HN community:

I set up a new MAC a few weeks ago and installed Firefox as my default web browser.

Firefox use duckduckgo as default search engine.

I’m searching some tricks of using zsh. All of the searches are using duckduckgo. Then, this happened. This happened to me a few times already.

One of my web pages was redirected to a Zsh download for Mac from coldballs.co.

https://coldballs.co/zsh-for-mac-os/ (be careful with this link if you are on Mac)

This link is masqueraded as a Mac App Store download page.

On my Ubuntu machine, the link above looks fine.

Then, I searched the same query on google. I won’t be able to see this website on the top search pages.

What is going on here? Anyone can explain? Thanks.

For me, this is a good alternative to matplotlib when I try to visualize a plot using WSL.

[edit]: matplotlib always crashed on me and failed to find Qt library.
