It truly is the SOTA for local inference on mac. Even when there are regressions the dev(s) are insanely responsive. It is the most impressive opensource project I've seen in a awhile

My pushback isn’t the credit part it is when they try to spring things on you directly instead of going through normal channels. A lack of planning on someone’s part is not automatically an emergency on my part. I see this far more often than credit stealing

The more I think about it and your comment the more I wish it was local only. It could be useful to analyze your editing habits and interactions with AI but I want that for my own benefit not random coworkers

Well shoot, they beat me to the punch. I’d been circling around something like this, just not collaborative and obviously more thought out than my random experiments. Minus the collab portions I’m interested to see how it compares to jujutsu

In reality yes, and probably a complex mixture of things. Dedicated time and resources being siphoned off for Llm work, etc

I wonder if a dedicated client or mode in a client would provide some benefits. Might also be interesting to do adversarial stuff too where it argues with itself or another model

I think one of the big appeals of TUI's is that it is easier for it to be cross platform. Crush looks the same on macos and linux, provided you have your terminal setup correctly.

Maybe. It doesn't help that a lot of corporations are pushing their employees into dark patterns around LLMs. That in turn informs their own personal use of LLMs outside the workplace

My problem has been just a lack of ownership. Unless it is a small focused outsourcing firm it is easier for the companies to just ship it, regardless of quality or maintainability. I have admittedly a small personal sample set though

Might be more far to say: they needed the US until they caught up. The massive straight up IP theft helps a lot here. Though theft might be too strong since a lot of companies knew what they were getting in to

I've started moving away from that for the same reason. 2-3GB of RAM for a sql runner is ridiculous
