I'm asking genuinely, how is this top of HN? The comments seem to indicate that HN overall doesn't find this article to be valuable at its face.

Seems to happen a lot with "ragequitting" posts. I feel like I could write "Microsoft Just Lost Me" and it could get to the top.

I don't have an opinion of Elon Musk. What would you say to those who think he's a value-add to the world, or are completely neutral about them (as I am)?

Do you really think your values are that pervasive, even here in HN (which tends towards an echo chamber)?

Ignoring the spotlight is detrimental.

As a person who does consulting work, the best thing I've found I can do is stay visible with my accomplishments.

I did a presentation earlier this year for a client where the CEO was in attendance. I did not know he was going to be there. They were blown away by my presentation.

You make your own luck.

I voted for Trump and the Republicans because I felt they aligned with my interests. I know a few absolute Trump haters who voted for Trump because they felt at the time that he aligned better with their interests.

That said, Trump and the Republican's bombastic language was a turn off for me.
